How Do You Start You Day

Posted by Casi McLean on

We all heard it said, "You are what you eat." But is that true? The answer is a resounding YES! The food you put into your system provide your every day fuel as well as feeding your muscles...which includes your heart. But that's not all. Breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. People who avoid eating breakfast and those who eat fat-filled sugar-frosted food end up with metabolism, concentration, and weight problems. Below I've listed some excellent choices to start your day feeling heathy, energized and on top of your game.

Oatmeal is a great beginning. Oatmeal contains wide array of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants and it’s a good source of iron, protein and carbohydrates. Having oatmeal for breakfast helps you lower your cholesterol level, blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and some certain types of cancer. It’s packed with fiber that absorbs water, which significantly slows down your digestive process, eliminates hunger and controls your weight.

Eggs are a great source of protein, 6 grams and as long as you don't smother them in fat. Plus they are rich in calcium, vitamin A and D. Eating eggs is good for healthy skin and eyes, because of the antioxidant lutein. People who eat eggs for breakfast feel satisfied for longer, while losing fat and transforming it into muscle at the same time. This is something very important for bodybuilders to know.

Low fat or better yet, fat-free plain yogurt is a good choice too. Mix it with fruit to add flavor and sweetness. Yogurt, helps you reduce your weight, and has a lot of calcium. Proteins in yogurt give you an extra edge if you are trying to lose weight, and one cup gives you 9.3 grams of protein.

Smoothies provide a wonderful boost and can be as healthy as you make them. There are tons of recipies flooding the internet and most provide nutritional information.

Start your day by eating a healthy breakfast, and you'll find yourself feeling better and able to take on your day with an edge. Feeling great fights stress and anxiety!
